My first niece lil Laila bug was born Saturday, May 5th @ 10:22pm weighing 6lbs9oz and measuring 21 3/4 in long. She was in the NICU for a short period of time and then returned to her mama for a less than a day before she began having breathing episodes. Late Sunday she was admitted into the NICU. After chest xrays, eccocardiograms, and an MRI on her brain the results were all clear, but the reason behind her forgetting to breathe was still unknown. As of Tuesday she is scheduled to come home possibly Friday, but as I well know from experience, you go day-by-day in the NICU and try not to get your hopes up. All that matters is Laila gets better and that she doesn't continue to scare her mommy and daddy to death (along with the rest of the family).
Courtney and Matt are doing as well as can be expected having a baby in the NICU. Courtney is nursing well and I am so happy for her about that because that was a rough road for me, so if something can go right for her that is wonderful.
Please continue to keep this little fighter in your thoughts and prayers, so she can go home with her mommy and daddy soon.
