Congratulations to Aunt Nicki and Uncle Jeff on their beautiful wedding.  I unfortunately was unable to attend, but Joe drove down for the day to surprise them.

Well, we made it to the end and the end result is not here.  I guess technically she is not late until 42 weeks, but that is crazy to me.  My doctor has written me out of work, so Friday of last week was my last day with my kiddos.  It was bitter sweet leaving them especially when a few teared up when I gave them hugs good-bye.  I will be back before they even know.  Joe and I went walking around the mall today in hopes of speeding up this whole labor process.  After the Panther game (hurray for a win) we took Zoe on a nice walk around the neighborhood.  Hopefully these two walks will get things moving, but I think Avery has her own agenda.  Joe and I are super punctual people, so it's only fitting that our diva child be fashionably late.  We all know she's got the fashion part already in her closet.

Here we are at 40 weeks (actually 39 w 6 d)

39 Weeks

I begin working 1/2 days this week.  This means I get off every day at 11:30.  No, I will not go shopping and running around town.  I will be coming home and spending some quality couch time with my puppy dog.  Her world is about to be rocked almost as much as ours.

Joe and I went out to dinner Saturday night and went out for yogurt toYoforia (so yummy).  We planned on watching Bridesmaids OnDemand afterwards, but was sad to find out it wasn't available.  I was still happy because at least he agreed to watch it.  Don't worry I will hold him to that.

Sunday we cleaned out our cars and trunks to make room for all the gadgets and gizmos that come along with having a baby.  We attempted to install the carseat bases, but learned rather quickly they needed to be done by professionals, or trained firemen.  Joe called and the Clemmons Fire Department had people there to check them.  And by "check them"  I mean take them out and redo them the proper way.  Haha.  At least I can feel confident that she will be safe in either one of our cars now.

I'm going to dinner with some gals from grad school tonight.  Some I have not seen or talked to since I've been pregnant, so it will be great to catch up with them and have my last "girls night out" for a little while.

My, oh my, how we have grown...

38 Weeks

2 weeks
14 days
336 hours

... but who's counting...

Maybe she'll be early, hopefully not too late!!!!  I go to the doctor Wednesday afternoon.  I will update any progress.

Update- Thursday, Sept. 15th
I went to the doctor yesterday and my blood pressure was still high.  He wrote me out for 1/2 days next week, so that's a relief.   I still feel fine other than a few Braxton Hicks contractions every couple of hours and the pressure down below.  Sleeping is still horrible, but I think that is natures way of preparing me for waking up throughout the night to feed baby girl.

Clock is ticking... I wonder when her timer is up?

37 Weeks

                  22 weeks                 vs                   37 weeks

We have a full term baby, but she's not ready yet.  She's got a little cooking to do still.  Hopefully she is punctual like her mama and daddy.  Joe and I went to the doctor today.  Blood pressure was a little high, but the doctor was not too concerned or ready to write me out just yet.  They started the internal exams this week also and he said I was not dilated, but thinning and softening out some.  He said he'd be shocked if I went into labor before my next appointment, so that gives me some more time to work on my sub plans.  Haha.  I have my baby shower at work tomorrow thrown by my wonderful 2nd grade team.  I am excited to spend some time with my work family.
