5 months- slow down baby girl!!!

Weight: ???  My guess would be around 14 or 15 pounds.
Height: ?? go to doctor next month for 6 month well check.
Head:  ??  go to doctor next month for  6 month well check.
Moods: Happy lil girl!  Loves to yell and squeal while playing.
Favorite foods: Formula (6oz).  This month she also tried green beans and squash.  She likes the squash much better than the beans.
Favorite toys: "Baby Love" Baby Love is the stork that her Pop pop bought her from the hospital gift shop when she was born.  It flaps it's wings and sings "baby love."  She loves it and often squeals with delight when she hears it.
Noises: She has definitely found her voice.  She loves "talking" to anyone who'll listen.
Playtime: Loves playing peek-a-boo and likes it when her daddy tosses her up and down.  We also visited the park for the 1st time this month.  She enjoyed swinging in the baby swing.
Milestones: Sitting up all by herself and trying baby food.
Sleep: Goes to bed around 8:30-9:00pm and sleeps until 6:30-7:00am "ish".  She's been sleeping this well for since December.

Joe's parents came to visit in the beginning of February.  This was a great help to me because I was holding parent/teacher conferences and getting home later than usual.  Mimi brought Avery some great new clothes for this summer and some sleepers for next year.  Avery enjoyed staying home with her Mimi and Pop.  This gave Grammy some "time off," but of course she wanted to come visit with Mimi and Pop as well.

Valentine's Day was much different this year than those of the past.  Joe and I usually get dressed up and go out to eat someplace nice.  This year I got dressed comfy and we ordered Chinese take out.  It was still just as wonderful as always because we got to spend time together.  The only bad part was since I've been eating healthier these days (19 pounds lost since Dec...woot woot) the Chinese food did not settle with me all that well. Joe did get me the sweetest gift.  I have him a hint of something I wanted, but didn't think he'd be able to find it and purchase it by V-day, but he's awesome.  He got me a silver chain with an adorable block letter "A" covered with diamonds.  I love everything about it!!!

The last weekend of February Courtney and I threw Andrea a baby shower brunch at my house.  Everything was perfect and Grayson got a lot a great things that I'm sure he couldn't live without.  It is getting sooo close to the arrival of my nephew and niece.  I still cannot believe BOTH of my sisters are having a baby 2 weeks apart (more or less) AND that we all three were actually pregnant for a short period of time together.  Too bad we didn't get a picture of that.  Who knows maybe it will happen again on round 2 in a few years.  Haha!!

Still loves her bath time :)

Our 1st time to the park.
What a beautiful 60 degree afternoon in the middle of February.

My first "girls night out" dinner and my 1st time sitting in a high chair.

Too cool for school

Mom and Dad's new puppy "Chesney."

I love reading books with mommy before bedtime.

My 1st ponytail :)

I'm becoming quite the "daddy's girl."  Love my daddy!!

We finally had a play date with the adorable Chloe.  Chloe was born mid July.  She and Avery share a love of girly clothes and foo foo hair bows and head bands (or at least their mommies do).

I can sit up and play :)

Eating beans and cereal :)

We got our 1st snow February 20th.
I cannot believe my baby girl is 5 months old already.  Time really has flown by.  She is changing so much each week, I am so excited to see what's in store for us next month.

Happy Valentine's Day :)

a bit  late...

Valentines Day was much different this year for Joe and I, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We ordered Chinese take out and spent the night in.  Joe gave me a beautiful necklace with an adorable diamond "A" charm.  I absolutely love it. Every time I look at it it reminds me a my beautiful baby girl and her amazing daddy.   My gift for Joe wasn't nearly as wonderful as his to me, but I think he enjoyed his bag of pistachios and Smithwicks beer.  Avery got a new bathing suit for this summer and a hat to keep the sun off her face.  She will look adorable in it. She also got some stacking cups for the bath/pool/beach :)  Perfect day filled with LOVE!

We began this month by celebrating the New Year and my birthday. Joe's parents came in town for NYE.  Joe and I went out to dinner (alone!!!!) while Mimi and Pop stayed home with Avery.  Our reservations were at 7:45.  You would have thought we inhaled our food because we were done and paid by 8:35.  We didn't want to go home yet because we wanted to take advantage of having babysitters at the house.  Of course with it being NYE nothing was open.  We decided to go get frozen yogurt to take up some more time.  We managed to get home before Avery went to bed, but I didn't mind getting to kiss her "night night" before the New Year.

For my birthday we did absolutely nothing and it was amazing.  I'm embarrassed to say that on that day I didn't even brush my hair or teeth and stayed in my PJs all day long.  We took the tree down and relaxed with our little family of 3.  I was so thankful to have another day off of work the following day.  Joe got me a new video camera (Sony Bloggie) because my FLIP was not taking the best videos.  I love my new camera and I hope everyone enjoys my videos I send to them of our precious lil girl.  It's amazing how much she is changing by the day.  Mom and dad put in new shelves in our basement for my birthday.  This will help tremendously with extra storage.

Avery loves her Pop Pop :)

Pop Pop and Gigi Lovin!!

Finally Finley Alexander Huff arrived!!!  Avery's friend Finley was born on December 30th, just in time to ring in the new year.  I visited the proud parents in the hospital and on Saturday, January 7th Avery got to meet her future BFF.  Finley just finished eating so she was pretty sleepy.  I told Avery that maybe Finley will play with her next time.  Big brother Carter was adorable with Finely and Avery.  He's so sweet.  Finley's mommy and daddy are doing well, and as to be expected with an 8 day old baby, they were pretty tired.  I look forward to these two girls get to spend more time together this summer.   Right now 3 months age difference is a whole lot, but soon enough you'll never be able to tell. We are also anticipating another baby girl's arrival the beginning of April.  My good friend Emily is expecting her second child Easter weekend.  WooHoo for girls!!!

Avery and I went with Courtney to try on bridesmaid's dresses.  She was a very good girl until she was ready to go (haha!).  She sat at the desk with Aunt C while she registered the dresses. She's was ready to be the best flowergirl ever!!  After some thinking Matt and Courtney made the decision (smart-in my opinion) not to have a wedding, but instead put that money towards a house.  I think little Laila will appreciate that decision.

Aunt Toni came to visit us the week before MLK weekend.  She stayed with us during the week and woke up early enough to get up with Avery which was a  nice treat for Daddy.  Avery loved spending time with her and Aunt Teezey and I'm pretty sure Aunt Teezey enjoyed herself as well.  While she was here we put together Avery's exersaucer.  She is still a lil too small for it, we stuffed blankets in front of her and behind her, but she LOVES it and I know her curiosity will continue to grow and thrive playing in this contraption.

AND of course Aunt Teezey made me some awesome awesome from Sweet T's Shoppe :)

On Friday, January 19th Avery rolled over from her belly to her back.
She has yet to do it again, but she did it :)

Avery enjoys attending our monthly Supper Clubs :)

The last weekend in January Avery had two playdates.  The first was with Carson who lives down the road.  Carson was born on Thanksgiving, so he's 2 months younger than Avery, but just about the same size : ) He's a growing boy.  Avery and Carson will have many playdates in the future since they live walking distance to each other.

Avery (4 months) and Carson ( 2 months)

Avery had another playdate with her buddy Jenna.  They last got together when Avery was 4 weeks and Jenna was 6 weeks. Both girls have grown so much since then.
